Can Cartoon Characters Be Protected? | IP Conversations

Why? What? When? How? These are some of the most used words in John’s dictionary. He’s pretty curious about the workings behind what happens in his life, and many of those have to do with the inventions and the workings of intellectual property in the world around him.

When John was babysitting for his older sister’s kids, he spent a whole afternoon watching cartoons with them. And even he, a relative newbie to the world of cartoons, recognized that some of these names were globally famous with multi-million dollar industries made entirely on their name. So naturally, he wanted to know how IP worked with these characters.
