Can Software Be Patented in India? | IP Conversations

Why? What? When? How? These are some of the most used words in John’s dictionary. He’s pretty curious about the workings behind what happens in his life, and many of those have to do with the inventions and the workings of intellectual property in the world around him.

John and IP Geek have been discussing all the ways in which certain kinds of inventions are not patentable under Indian Patent Law over some of their past few conversations. These include everything from discoveries and guns to new forms of existing chemical compositions. Now, John wants to know if a computer program can be patented. This has motivated IP Geek to step in and clear the air on the topic.
